What is the best way to get a rental when you have a bad credit rating?

I have a bad credit rating and I will be needing a place for my family to live, what is the best way to obtain a rental with a bad credit rating. I will be relocating to Texas, accepting a new job and have this worry. What Should I do?

Texas is ALOT more lenient then California luckily. I would try going through a private person who is renting out their property. They are normally alot nicer and lenient about things. Just make sure you explain your situation and why you have bad credit. When you say bad credit btw do you mean evictions and what not? It will be extremely hard for you anywhere you go with an eviction. Everything else can be worked around and normally if you offer a higher deposit or if you agree to pay one your all good. Get federal form r260-B. It’s designed to help people in a pinch with bad credit (specifically for rental properties but rental cars as well). It asks questions about your tax returns so you’ll need last year’s as well.
